2009 Dec 5 Fighting a Hate Speech Charge in Austria
Regular Gates of Vienna readers are familiar with Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff, who recently gave a series of exemplary Counterjihad presentations at the OSCE Human Dimension roundtable in Vienna a few weeks ago.
Those who speak out prominently against Islamization sooner or later face the wrath of the dhimmi establishment. Anyone who sticks his head up over the parapet risks having it shot off.
And so it is for Elisabeth. She dared to speak the truth about Islam. Now, like Geert Wilders and hundreds of other Europeans, she has run afoul of her country’s hate speech laws, and faces prosecution for what she said.
Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff was interviewed today by S.M. Steinitz for profil (Austria’s equivalent to Time or Der Spiegel). Many thanks to Jihad Watch for publicizing Elisabeth’s case:
2009 Dec 11 Heckling the Counterjihad
I reported last week on the case of Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff, the Austrian anti-jihad activist who is facing a “hate speech” charge for one of her recent presentations on Islam.
Two days ago, on December 9th, Elisabeth was conducting another presentation in the same series of seminars. On this occasion she was interrupted and verbally attacked by Muslims in the audience who objected to what she had to say. Below is her report:
On Wednesday night I gave my presentation on Islam at another seminar, part 2 of the series in the province of Burgenland. The meeting was held in Pinkafeld, a small town about 90 minutes south of Vienna.
2009 Dec 14 Whose Law?
Most readers are familiar with Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff, the Austrian anti-jihad activist who is facing a “hate speech” charge for one of her recent presentations on Islam.
The evening after her “Islamophobic” speech was publicized in the Austrian press — on November 26th, 2009 — Elisabeth gave the third in a series of lectures on Islam. Considering that her previous presentation was the one that brought down the “hate speech” charge on her head, Elisabeth’s lecture that night drew a lot of attention.
The video below shows the first part of her lecture about sharia law, which was the final seminar on the topic presented in Vienna. Listen to what she says and see if there’s anything that’s untrue, or inflammatory, or that passes the bounds of reasonable opinion. Like Geert Wilders, she is being targeted for speaking up about matters that the political elite prefer to keep under the rug.
2009 Dec 17 Defaming the Muslims of Pinkafeld
I’ve written recently about Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff, the Austrian anti-jihad activist who is facing a “hate speech” charge for her outspoken informational seminars about Islam. Last week I posted Elisabeth’s account of a meeting in which she was heckled by Muslim women who took offense at what she had to say.
The Austrian newspaper NEWS.at, which instigated the “hate speech” charge when it published an article about one of Elisabeth’s presentations, is leading the campaign against her “xenophobia”.
It’s interesting to note that the Muslim women mentioned in the article define themselves as Muslims first, and Austrians second — if, in fact, they consider themselves Austrians at all.
2010 March 11 A Mother and an Activist
Our Rosetta Stone project for LTC (ret.) Allen West has highlighted his role in the FDI event at CPAC last month. However, as regular readers will recall, the Austrian anti-jihad activist Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff was also a featured speaker at that event.
While she was in Washington D.C., Elisabeth was interviewed by Sarah Morrison for The Jewish State, and the result was published on February 26. Some excerpts are below:
Activist takes on radical Islam
Sabaditsch-Wolff: ‘It remains to be seen whether the truth is a defense’
Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff may not be a household name, but she is now a high-profile personality in the growing movement against radical Islam’s steadying foothold in Europe.
2010 March 20 An Austrian “Hate School”
The Austrian website SOS — Österreich has posted its own take on what the Austrian MSM has called Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff’s “Hate School” — that is, her tutorials about Islam which have been given at several locations under the auspices of the FPÖ, and which have caused her to be investigated for “hate speech” by the Austrian authorities.
Liz from Europe News did the translation, with some help from ESW:
Visiting a “Hate School” Against Islam
We all remember the undercover story of a weekly glossy two months ago about an alleged “FPÖ hate school”! Last night, a “hate-event” of the same kind took place — someone from our blog SOS Austria was also present!
To begin with, a few years ago I attended a lecture on a Vienna community college about “Das Kapital — Karl Marx” (also supported with tax money)! There was definitely more “agitation” against capitalism, lobbyists and the U.S., …
As I mentioned earlier, I spent Friday February 19th in Washington D.C. at two events where Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff was a featured speaker. The first was the launch of the Freedom Defense Initiative, which was organized by Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer. Elisabeth spoke at length about the hate-speech case mounted against her by the Austrian authorities, and also recounted some of her experiences living and working in Iran, Kuwait, and Libya. Thanks to UAC, Elisabeth’s appearance at the FDI event is now available on video:

2010 March 29 Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff and the Wiener Akademikerbund
As I mentioned last month, the Austrian anti-jihad activist Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff was one of the speakers at the Freedom Defense Initiative on February 19 at CPAC. Her speech has been subtitled in German, and I present the two-part video of it here as a prologue to the latest news from the front lines in Vienna.Part 1:
As I’ve said many times in the past, CBN’s coverage of Islam is superior to anything produced by the major television networks. Its news production is every bit as professional, and far exceeds the MSM in its accuracy and depth of information. The latest from CBN concerns one of Gates of Vienna’s own: Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff. As regular readers know, Elisabeth has a hate speech charge hanging over her head in Austria for a lecture she gave about Islam.
Here’s the report from Erick Stakelbeck. Many thanks to Vlad Tepes for YouTubing it:
2010 Sept 16 “Justice Must Not Be Made the Handmaiden of Sharia”
We have reported previously on the pending “hate speech” case against our Austrian correspondent Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff. The most recent post featured a CBN news report about her (links to the earlier articles are at the bottom of this post).
For the last ten months Ms. Sabaditsch-Wolff has had the possibility of a formal charge hanging over her head, based on what she said last November in a seminar she gave about Islam. She has been waiting for the other shoe to drop, and now it seems that the red patent-leather stiletto heel of Austrian “justice” has finally thumped against the floor.
The travesty of the matter is that Ms. Sabaditsch-Wolff did not learn of the charge filed against her through a court document.
She received no official summons.

2010 Oct 11 Interview With Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff
When Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff was in Berlin for German Reunification Day, she gave an interview about the hate speech case that is pending against her in Austria. For those of us who are used to hearing her fluent American English, it is startling (and gratifying) to hear her speak in her native language.
Note: Elisabeth is in the process of setting up a trust account to cover her legal expenses (which will be considerable). When details become available, they will be posted here so that readers will know where to go to contribute to her cause.
